Morris E. Harmon, age 81, passed away on September 13, 2016, at the Autumn Lake Nursing Home in Chestertown, Maryland.
Morris was born on November 17, 1934, in Delaware. He was the son of the late Otis Rodney Harmon and Sarah Catherine Burton Harmon. He was married to the late Martha Anne Sins Harmon.
He spent most of his life in the town of Ellendale, located in Sussex County, Delaware. He received his education in the Delaware Public School System. He was an avid gardener who enjoyed sharing his vegetables with family and friends. He was a quiet and neat individual, who enjoyed watching western movies on television. He also loved to collect flags.
Morris spent many years working in the pulp wood industry. He also served in the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Anne Sins Harmon; daughter, Linda Sheperd; brothers, Larry Harmon, Nelson Harmon, Albert Burton, and James W. Harmon; sisters, Viola Frazier, Iona Highland, and Bernice Johnson.
He is survived by five daughters, Florence Hampton, Constance Denise Harmon, Elaine Harmon, Valery Renea Harmon, and a daughter named, Sissy; two sons, Eugene Kurtis and Morris E. Harmon, Jr.; one brother, Otis Harmon, Jr. of Lewes, DE, and three sisters, Flossie Greene of Ellendale, DE, Annie Payne, of Milford, DE and Nora Steel, of Hightstown, NJ. He also leaves behind a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
