Almighty God, in his infinite wisdom, called his loved one, Elmer Jackson, to leave his earthly home. Elmer was called into eternal rest on Monday January 9,2017. Elmer was born in Snow Hill, Maryland to the late Hazel Jackson Martin and the late Charles Milbourne. Besides his parents, his brother Jim and stepfather Sylvester "Buck" Martin preceded him in death.
"Does", as he was affectionately called by family and friends, was a kind, loving, and caring person.
He had many lifelong friends that worked with him for the many years he was employed with the Worcester County Roads. He was a 32nd degree Mason, Lodge 105, for 50+ years.
"Does" was a long time member of Ebenezer Methodist Church. He later changed his membership to Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church under pastorate of Pastor Joe Poe. Wherever he worshipped, he showed his love for God. Putting God first was always exemplified in his loving care of
family and friends. "Does" sometimes had a shy demeanor, but once he was in your presence for awhile, that shyness faded. Actually he had a great sense of humor. His Uncle Walt was his best friend. Most o f the time when you would see one you would see the other. Their favorite dining spot was Down Under. He would always take his Aunt Pearl, (whom he loved so much he called her MOM) their favorite chicken tenders and fries.
"Does" left a legacy when God called him home. Cherishing his memory are his siblings Logan (Sandi), Kathy, Reggie, and Anita; two special cousins, Nikki and Neva; his uncle, Walt, along with many other relatives and friends, as well as his dear friend, Burley, with fond memories. "Does" also made a lasting friendship with the staff and seniors at the MAC center. He loved that place.
God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be.
So He put His arms around you and whispered,
“Come to Me”. With tearful eyes we watched you and
saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, we could
make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard
wrking hands a rest; God broke our hearts to prove to us...
He only Takes The Best.
Sorrowfully, The Jackson Family
