Dierdre Lavonne Brooks was born on February 17, 1960 in Rochester, New York to the late Amos Brooks and Dora Harrison Brooks. She peacefully departed this life on March 17, 2017 after her battle with breast cancer. Lavonne or Dee as many of her family and friends called her, worked as a dialysis technician for seventeen years with DaVita Dialysis in Baltimore, Maryland. She previously worked at Good Samaritan Hospital in Baltimore and Chancellor Care Center in Delmar, MD.
She leaves to cherish her memory, three sons, Anthony “Michael” Yarrell, Alphonzo “David” Yarrell both of Baltimore, MD and Antione “Gus” Pugh of Salisbury, MD; her husband, Derrick Andrews; three sisters, Kim Brooks of Baltimore, MD, Clytrice Austin-Watson (Michael) of Dover, DE and Lisa Austin-King (Jason) of Salisbury, MD; three brothers, Steven Donald of Rochester, NY, Amos Brooks (Valerie) of Baltimore, MD and Larry Austin (Marlene) of Upper Marlboro, MD; four grandchildren, Ke’Shawna George of Cambridge, MD, Kiondre Kellam of Salisbury, MD, Alexis Smack and Mekayla Yarrell both of Baltimore, MD; one great-grandson, Joel Barkley of Baltimore, MD and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
