Tinley Carlington Wilson, affectionately known as “Frenchy”, son of the late Allan Sr. and Mildred Wilson, was born November 30, 1950. He departed this life on July 15, 2017 at Perry Point Medical Center. He was 66 years old. Frenchy became his nickname because of how long he would grow his beard.
Tinley attended Kennard Elementary School and graduated from Queen Anne’s County High School, class of 1969. He entered the United States Army in July of 1970 and earned an honorable discharge in 1972. He served in Korea and worked as a cook during some of his tour.
Tinley worked for a short time in the auto industry. He spent numerous years working odd jobs for various people. Tinley was always helping someone in need. One of his favorite sayings was “Just trying to help.” If he thought that you were gossiping, he would shake his finger and say “Keep some-save some.” If he didn’t believe what you were trying to tell him, he’d loudly proclaim, “Who’s fooling who?”
Tinley liked watching baseball, especially the Orioles. He loved dogs, dancing and playing cards. His utmost favorite thing to do was to dress up to visit friends and family.
In addition to his parents, Tinley was preceded in death by one sister, Helen “Puggie”; two brothers, Allan Jr. and Leonard; one nephew, James “Jimboy”; and two brothers-in-law, James Wilson and Walter Deaton.
Tinley leaves to cherish many memories, three sisters, Bessie Wilson of Silver Spring, MD, Elouise Deaton of Church Hill, MD and Valerie Brown-Campbell (Greg) of Middletown, DE; three brothers Larry and Roland of Pondtown, MD and Winfield Elliott of Camden, DE , and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
