Obituary for Omielee Holland

Omielee  Holland
Mrs. Omielee Holland was born on Thursday, December 18, 1924 in Thomasville, Georgia to the late Warren & Gertrude Spivey. She passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Atlantic Shores Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Millsboro, Delaware.

Omielee was the third oldest child of twelve children; 7 brothers and four sisters. She attended the public schools of Thomasville. Omielee met and married Avery Holland, Sr., and they shared 62 years of marriage. From that union, Avery Holland, Jr., was born. Omielee worked on a farm for five years, then Perdue Farms in Georgetown, Delaware for ten years, later becoming a housewife. She enjoyed worshipping at Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church in Delmar, Delaware, and later joined Fellowship Tabernacle in Delmar, Delaware. Omielee loved spending time with her husband, Avery, and cooking.

Omielee was preceded in death by her parents and nine siblings. She leaves to mourn her loss, her loving husband, Avery Holland, Sr.; one son, Avery (Patricia) Holland, Jr., all of Laurel, Delaware;3 grandchildren, Tanya Deshields and Tijuana Holland, both of Laurel, Delaware, and Brenda Jackson of Seaford, Delaware; two sisters, Doris Battle of Seaford, Delaware and Delma Costen of Thomasville, Georgia; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild ;and a host of nieces and nephews.
