Margaret E. Cammile of Hartly, Delaware, went home to rest on January 6, 2018. Born January 20, 1915, in Hartly, Delaware, she was the oldest daughter of the late Freeman and Elizabeth Cammile. Margaret received her education at Lockwood Elementary School, Kenton, School, and Delaware State College.
Margaret worked as a secretary and substitute teacher in the Lockwood School System and for private families until her mother became ill. She cared for her mother faithfully, until her mother’s death. Margaret was a faithful member of Lockwood A.M.E. Church, now, Emmanuel A.M.E. Church, serving as delegate, steward, President of Pastor’s Aide, Secretary for Missionaries and the Culinary Committee president. She loved working for the Lord. In the year of 2000, her brother took ill and she cared for him until his death.
Margaret was preceded in death by her father in January 1946; mother in April of 1980; sister, Gladys L. Mason, in 1999 and brother, James A. Cammile in November of 2005.
Margaret is survived by her caregiver, Mary Alice Harling; two cousins, Alyce King and Michael Rosal; and a host of other cousins, relatives, and many friends.
Margaret’s favorite scriptures were Psalms 27 and 31. She will be remembered for all the work she has done in her quiet, Christian-like manner.
